The Biscuit was not really sold, but Raving Brands have bought the right to franchise the concept. And final quality control is for Delia to determine. So, ignore the rumors and know that the Candler Park location will not change!!! Enough said.

As I type this, my Dewberry Tshirts are being printed. I had to leave everything for the last minute. I will also have some special buttons, but not too many. I don't think I'll have enough of anything, but I had my health to think of, so I hope everyone will get one if they want and not roll my car for not being able to cook for all of you.

Keep your eyes open for the new season of Hell's Kitchen, which debuts of June 12th. I will be giving a commentary for the website, like last year and hope that everyone comes back for another helping of Hell.

I love all of you and we'll see ya'll in Nashville!!!

Dewey

Congrats to my Ralphie!

Hey Ya'll!!!

Congrats are indeed due to my dear friend Ralph Pagano and his lovely lady Buffy. Ralph was on Iron Chef America tonight and he did a fantastic job!

He chose to go up against Bobby Flay and they were equally matched. And although Ralph didn't win, I know he won some new fans with his easy charm and focused intensity.

This picture was taken last year in the Hamptons, when I visited him and Buffy and spent some much needed time getting sloshed with all of the amazing people of the Hamptons! And being there with my Wendy from Hell's Kitchen made that trip one to remember.

I love ya'll and please catch the reruns of the Iron Chef America with Ralphie!

ps...Hey Wendy, remember all of that great food we ate in China town.....send me some of those amazing pork buns!!!

Dewberry encounters Leslie Jordan

Hey Ya'll

I went to the delicious one "man" show Like a Dog on Linoleum starring Leslie Jordan. I'm sure you all remember Leslie from Sordid Lives, who on earth will ever forget Brother Boy!

The show was a rip roaring, side splitting, helluva good time. Leslie lays his life on the line for everyone to see and feel. He has learned to use his comedy to strike at the heart of everyone within spitting distance. His stories are always zany and humorous yet they always have a point that more than just a quick laugh.

His show was about tolerance but not the way you might think. He isn't pushing for us to all accept and love each other, or should I say that its understood that it is expected. He is trying to teach us all to be more tolerant of ourselves and learn to accept the inevitable lapse in judgment. Who among us has never stumbled and had no one but ourselves to blame.

If you have a chance to see the show....please, please go and experience it for yourself. You have nothing but a good time to look forward too....

I love ya'll and I am counting the days to Nashville!!

Dewey

yum yum

<div style="float: right; Last Thursday I had my first cooking demo for Cooks Warehouse in Decatur. We had a blast and I made lots of new friends, including two lovely folks from Wisconsin. We had a great menu and I think that everyone learned alot. I made Flying golden raisin and cranberry scones and they were the hit of the night. Scones are one of those things we are all hesitant to make...but after the demo, I know a few people went home and made the best scone ever. If ya'll want the recipes we did that night, just shoot me an email to dewberrythebaker@aol.com and I will be happy to email them to you. We also did a pineapple and coconut creme mimosa, drunken melon balls and a zucchini, scallion and feta frittata and I would love to share these with all of you.

The pictures will be posted this week, so you can all see what happens when a Dewberry and lots of champagne collide in a well appointed kitchen!

Love to all and I am still counting down the days to Nashville!!

Dewey

Dewberry attempts to Adult Swim

Hi Ya'll!!! Shame on me for leaving my blog so quiet for such a long time. It seems that everything happens all at once or not at all. First of all, I have some really exciting news. I was given the opportunity to try out for a voice part for a pilot being worked on for Cartoon Networks ADULT SWIM. If you have never heard of Adult Swim, then you should tune into it and see what my excitement is all about. The shows on AS are cutting edge, witty, biting and always funny. So, lets hope it works out. I'll keep ya'll posted!! My next bit of news is for everyone here in or around Atlanta. I will be giving cooking demonstrations for Cooks Warehouse on April 13th and May 25th. I hope to see lots of people there and to have a great time. To register for a demo, just to to www.cookswarehouse.com and click onto the classes section of the website. Finally, I have recently been working with my good friend Tara, trying to come up with a great idea for a cooking show. We are in talks with a director who is ready to put our idea on film and take it to Food Network and other cable networks. This may be just what I have been waiting for. And, if that's not enough, I heard from a friend the other day that Hell's Kitchen Season 2 has wrapped shooting! So soon you will get to see Gordon back in action. That's about as much as I can cram into one posting, although I want to remind everyone to get their tickets early for the Reality TV Convention in June.

Love always

Dewey

I have to tell you...When you live south of Atlanta and have to go to north Atlanta to have lunch, it better be worth it. This week I went to Marietta to have lunch at the Three Bears Cafe, which is owned my friend and ex boss Anthony, and it was more than worth the drive past the Big Chicken.

To start with, the square in Marietta is an adorable little shopping area, full of restaurants and ice cream shops. I think that you could spend a fascinating afternoon just walking around staring at the people and getting an ice cream with each pass of the shops. But step inside the Three Bears Cafe and you will want more than ice cream.

Ann Myers and I had a great time at the cafe. We got there just after the lunch rush and got a great table near the door, so that I can see everyone passing by. The decor is nice and you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. And the most important part, it was all as clean as a whistle.

We decided to share the fried green tomatoes with fresh corn salsa and feta cheese as the appetizer, but could not decide on entrees that we wanted to share. So, Ann had the 3b Quesadilla and I had the bison burger with baked sweet potato fries. The food came out hot and exactly as it was ordered.

So, the tomatoes from Chef Tiffany Moon were pan seared, not deep fried. They were also perfect, enough said. The bison was delicious and cooked well done, which made me very happy. To the rest of the world that likes meat with at least four of the five senses still intact, I'm sorry that I love well done meat but that's just how it is.....and Ann loved her quesadilla made with chicken and fresh corn.

The food and service are great and I am in love with the cafe. I can't wait to go back and try the cold soba noodle salad, I hear its great. I was also allowed to tour the kitchen and the back part of the restaurant that used to be an old theater. In fact, the stage and screen are still intact and we did a little mini rendition of "Annie" while no one was around. They are working on expanding the restaurant, but I'm going to make you wait and see it for yourself. It's going to be great.

So ya'll, stop by the Three Bears Cafe and tell um Dewberry sent ya!!

Love always

Dewey

Dewberry does the Convention

In case you havn't heard, realtiy tv is getting it's own convention, and wild horses couldn't keep me out of Nashville, Tenneesse this June. You would have thought that someone would have told me they were going to have this show, but I happened to see it online while looking for....well, I don't remember what.....but I found it. I can't wait to be there and meet all of the other contestants. I have posted a link for the website, so visit it and try and come to be with us. Nashville is a great town and it can only be fun for all. Maybe we can all invade the Wild Horse Saloon and someone can teach me how to line dance. Hmm...I wonder if cowboys like Dewberries.....I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.. :-) I'll see you all soon!!! What I did was go and see the Vagina Monologues.....but I couldn't resist jerking your chain just a little.

The Vagina Monolugues, for those of you who have never see it, is a kind of play that discusses the female sex organ. It was written by Eve Ensler, who interviewed many women and turned their stories into what is now the Monologues. They are striking in their horror, filled with humor and freightening in their honesty. I think that it is impossible for anyone to leave the show without a great sense of change, of enlightenment.

I was lucky enough to know the producer of this years show and one of the performers. Leah Smith and Carrie Vogler were both co-workers of mine from the Flying Biscuit in Atlanta. Leah, produced and Carrie was the "Reclaining Cunt" that made everyone in the audience roar with laughter. Carrie was a vision with a pink and blond mohawk and a pair of pink boots that made my heart flutter. But all of the ladies in the show were great and the evening was memorable.

My date for the evening was Ann Myers, the girl with me in the pic. We met at her house before hand and I personally love her dog Pierre. I think that we both felt the same way about the Monologues. They were funny, smart, shocking, and brilliantly played. And while it is true that parts of it were over done and the acoustics at the Rialto could have been better, I don't know when I have seen anything on stage that was as powerful as the Vagina Monologues.

On a side note, I happened to run into my old boss, Anothny Corvelli, from the Flying Biscuit. He has recently opened a restaurant in the Marietta Square called The Three Bears Cafe. His Chef is none other than Tiffany Moon, who I think is one of the most adorable chefs I have ever met. I'm going there next week for lunch, with Ann in tow and will give ya'll a review soon after.

Love always and peace to all Vagina's

Dewberry

ps..Carrie, where did you get those boots.?..

Welcome to my life

Not so long ago, if you would have tried to tell me that I was going to be on television, I would have laughed and walked away. These things don't happen to slightly off centered, overweight and not so attractive (by television standards, anyway) boys from the deep South. These things happen to guys with tight muscles or starry eyed little twink boys with great hair, but not to me. Or so I thought.

Enter the casting crew for a little show called Hell's Kitchen. They waltzed into the Flying Biscuit Cafe in Atlanta and all hell broke loose. My boss, Delia Champion, told us that they were coming to film (or something like that) and that we should all be there. I was supposed to be in school that day, but Delia made sure I was there. She was convinced that I was what they were looking for before they knew what they wanted.

The rest is a matter of behind the scenes gossip (best saved for later...in bits and pieces) and a lot of blind luck. I appeared on the Fox television reality show Hell's Kitchen, and nothing has been the same since.

This blog represents my desire to reach out to the world and to allow you to reach back to me. I will be keeping the journal updated with important things in my life and hope that you can share your lives with me. It will also be a way for me to keep everyone in the loop about projects that I am working on, whenever they come up.

I hope to hear from you soon, and will be adding a few upcoming events to the blog very soon!!

Love always

Dewberry

Ann Dewberry and Pierre.

  Ann Dewberry and Pierre.
Originally uploaded by thiftstorequeen.
